yes Monday is my birthday sigh however this will be the 3rd year that I do NOT have to go to a police station or a sheriff station to update my information most of you or some of you already know that I came off the list in June 2011 so I like to think of that month and year as my "Birthday" yes I was shocked and stunned when I received the letter that said I was off the list I laughed I cried it was as if I was "born" again. when I was on the list what really broke my heart was when my granddaughter asked me papa why cant you take me me to the park? how can you explain to a child that your grandfather can not play with you at the park because he is BANNED from going to the park. the first time I went to the park after I was taken off the list I felt scared like a deer caught in a car's headlights a lot of thoughts went through my mind. I thought back to the time when I had just moved into a 1 bedroom house which by the way was good for me because I am disabled and the rent was $350.00 a month being on a fixed income I was happy. then finding out to my horror that the house was close to a school so when I went to the NAZI office I was told I had 30 days to "find a solution" yes I was stunned I said to the officer I am disabled on a fixed income I had to borrow $1,000.00 just to move in not to mention money for a truck my son and a few friends helped me move in and you just want me to up and move? he said that's the law. ok yes its the law so this is the thanks I get for doing 4 years in the Marines and 3 years in the army natl guard. not only that at the time my oldest son was in Iraq fighting for freedom yet his father was being told to move. gotta love this country.my mind drifted back to the day when 2 officers showed up at my house for a compliance check that day I was sick because I ran out of my pain meds for my back they wanted to come inside my house. I said not without a warrant long story short they bullied me and badgered me into coming in my house and if I was not feeling sick that day I would have put up much more of a fight they even had the never to plop down at my computer and go through my files yes I know what you're thinking but at the time I was not feeling well so I let it pass. now I can go to the park with my granddaughters now I can go fishing again my heart goes out to each and every one of you stay strong please do not let them break you. and as always peace out and god bless.(sorry so long) lol
