There was a guy who came through court for rape charges where i lived. He was a CNA at a nursing home. He impregnated a mentally disabled woman who was a resident at the facility.

klw has a point-the more money and power one wields, the less likely they'll be held to account. The "justice" system in both the UK and US are biased towards favoring the rich, no matter which country. Until we all rise up and demand that the entire system be scrapped, and we start over, it won't change.

This story does give new meaning to the phrase "falling into a life of crime."

Anyone can get out of almost anything with the right amount of money.

The wealthy definitely get off lighter as do certain professions. A doctor killed a pedestrian on a crossing and was cleared, a toy shop owner was selling CP from his shop(kept the money the first time was only imprisoned after he was caught several times (which if I remember correctly was 4 and still owns the toy shop) and if the McCanns were regular folk who left their kids whilst out to dinner I doubt they would still have custody of their other children. There's a case on at the moment in the UK about a police worker copying the vulnerable children database and CP evidence photographs and videos, I'm curious to see what happens to him.

Maybe he'll make it into Ripley's?
