If I can ask, what were your charges to start and how long was it from time of arrest to the point where you had plea drawn up? I am just trying to get an idea of how the time frame moves.

Possession of CP. I was arrested in October, so it's been not quite six months. I don't know if that's typical for such cases.

That is the fastest timetable that I have ever heard. Mine was more than 5 years from arrest to self surrender. What's your sentencing range? Does your lawyer think it can go lower?

The sentencing guideline is one to 20 years in prison, though I think the judge does have some discretion. I assume a lot will depend on the PSI. My attorney will argue for probation and he has indicated he doesn't think the prosecutor will object too strenuously to that. I hope he's right about that.

If you had to do a year or two in prison with no parole afterwards that wouldn't be terrible either. Rew says he would easily rather do that than deal with a PO. I must've gotten lucky with my probation. I had a great PO, but only after I started "playing ball" so to speak (the PO was a major @$$ before I got everything going smoothly) I kept a long term job, went to school, passed my polys, stayed out of trouble and completed therapy. It got rocky again after I lost my job for being a RSO, and the PO again rode me until I got a job again.

The one nice thing is that at least you know your outcome. I cannot imagine it hanging overt head for years.

Thank you for the good wishes. While I don't know the outcome yet, I have begun applying for jobs...which is a step forward, even if it takes a while to land something...and even if I have to go away for a while.
