Is anyone dealing with this or has anyone dealt with this? I have a day trip planned with my daughter and son in law and I have been up for four hours with major anxiety to leave my house. I feel like the only reason I go to work is to make sure my son has money on his books and a place to come home to when he is released but if it weren't for that I would probably never leave my house! I have never had anxiety attacks before and I just started medication but does this go away? I am doing my best not to completely lose my shit and cancel on my daughter as I know I need to get out there but the exhibit is in Seattle and for the last seven weeks the only reason I have been to Seattle is for court dates and to see my son's lawyer. I am supposed to leave in 20 minutes and I am seriously struggling to get my ass out of this house!

Do it! Try not to think too much. Let your self have fun. It is all in your head. I have to talk to myself by saying it will be ok. I can do this!

Yes, I find it very hard to go out nights & weekends. Please try to go, it's in your best interest. We will be here for you when you get back, and cheering you on while your gone.

Yes we have all felt that. It was a lot worse at the start and I still have it sometimes but yes go and have fun

Yes, I have dealt with anxiety attacks, so much so it was dibilitating. I had to be placed on anti-anxiety meds for awhile until trial was over. I still occasionally have anxiety, and found that taking deep breaths and letting it out slowly, as well as praying helps to combat anxiety attacks.

I find the attacks come on when I try to look too far down the road. When I focus on just getting through today, I do better.

I'm hoping you went with your daughter. We've all been there. A friend of mine had to go to see a lawyer and asked me to go with her and I didn't want to say no (she supported me through the whole ordeal with my husband and is one of the only 2 friends who didn't abandon me). What I didn't tell her is that I was having an anxiety attack the entire time sitting in the lawyers office and when I went home I got in bed and cried and shook for about 2 hours. It's like PTSD. The only other time I was in a lawyer's office before that time was going back and forth with my husband.

You just have to focus on today. I hope you went and had a good time. (((hugs)))

I did go and it was fun. My mind wasn't fully there but I am glad I went I got a bunch of pictures to send my send son so that was good. I was definitely happy to be home though. All in all I am glad that I went I guess it is just going to take some time before I stop freaking out. Thank you all for your kind words.

Yes, it is PTSD. The first time I had to go to the court house after my husband's trial was to get a copy of my marriage license and I shook the whole time. The office was on the same floor as the court room too. I was so afraid if I ran into the bitch DA I'd flip out on her.

I found brain-spotting to work well for my anxiety and depression. I also found that some medication to get through the worst was helpful. 2 years later and I don't use the medication any more, but I use the brain spotting nightly and go to support group 1 a month.
