Like I essentially told Rew in a private message, I vacillate from "I'm doing really well" to "I can barely get out of bed." Today, unfortunately, I find myself in the latter state.

I finally got approved to visit my husband in Reception (I sent my visiting questionnaire in June). He's now been in that hell hole for 102 days and STILL has not seen his counselor, so we're still in the dark about where he's going and how long he'll be there.

I called his counselor's supervisor (The counselor has yet to return a single one of my calls) just to get some information on hardship letters, as my father-in-law has Parkinson's and can't travel long distances (We were hoping to get this letter to the appropriate party before my husband gets endorsed for a prison that's impossibly far away). I was basically told that it didn't matter; hardship letter or not, they'll put my husband where there's room. Fine. Whatever.

Then I politely inquired about when his subordinate might get around to seeing my husband, as it's been over 100 days already. I said, "You can understand how frustrating this must be." And the prick actually said, "No, I can't." He then went on to accuse me of accusing his employee of not doing his job (Defensive are we?). Ultimately, I was told, in so many words, that they'll process him when they get around to it and there's no rule about when that needs to be done.

I informed him that actually, the website o the prison does in fact, state a timeline for processing.

Silence.

Ugh. I'm so sick of these high-on-power abusers of authority.

On top of this, my husband keeps telling me about the deplorable conditions of that place--the stopped-up toilets that no one fixes, the denial of showers, lack of replacement toilet paper, the zero acknowledgment that medical requests and appeal forms receive.

He has compiled his extensive list of grievances in one letter. I'd like to write a letter to the warden on his behalf. Is this a total waste of my time?
