waiting for the PHONE CALL

I am not sure how it really works. I put in money on my husband's account on Saturday and he said he can buy stuff at commisionary (phone cards) on Monday and he will get it by Wednesday. I was waiting for him to call yesterday. Do they have certain time when they can use the phone and call???? I did mention to him to avoid calling me when I am at work (8-5pm) so the kids and I have been waiting for the call since last night but no calls.... Does anyone know????

YA EACH PLACE IS DIFFERENT BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT'S FOR 6AM-8AM 12NOON-2PM THEN 5PM TILL NIGHT LOCK DOWN BUT MIND U IF SHIFT CHANGE NURSE OR ANYTHING HAPP'S THEN OFF THE PHONE AN MIND U LIKE "FIGHTING" FOR THE PHONE. 2 PHONES 100-200 PEOPLE WAITING FOR IT KEEP THAT IN MIND :) ALSO I KNOW THAT MY MAN CAN'T BUY PHONE CARDS FORM COMM. EVEN THOU IT'S ON THE LIST HE FOUND OUT THAT ONLY WORK RELESS CAN THAT I HAD TO PUT MONEY ON THE PHONE BOOKS AT ICS BUT WE LEARNED WITH TIME ALL WAS NEW TO US AT THE BEGINING BUT WE GOT IT DOWN NOW I KNOW AT FIRST U LIKE WHAT TO DO AAAA!!! JUST CALL THE JAIL AN FIND OUT WHAT THE PHONES RULES R THERE. DON'T BE AFRIED TO CALL I USE TO CALL ALL THE TIME AT FIRST AN THE PEOPLE THERE WERE REALLY NICE AN ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS !!! I JUST USED TO TELL THEM ALL THE TIME I'M SORRY TO BUG BUT I'M NEW TO THIS AN I HOPE THAT U CAN HELP ME. AN THEY R LIKE SURE :)

WERE DENNIS IS IT TAKES A WEEK FOR THE MONEY TO GET ON THE BOOKS. HE DOES BUY A PHONE CARD AND CALLS ONCE A WEEK. BUT ALL PRISONS HAVE THERE OWN RULES.

Yeah, from what I understand your commisionary list has to be in by a certain date too for you to get your stuff on the day. In Philadelphia County you can't even buy cards, need to put a person on the list and then have him create a pre-pay account. Did you find out yet when his release date is?

He called yesterday but i missed it. It was 888 number and when I called it back it was PCS telecom... so I guess he was not able to get a phone card coz I called PCS and I'm supposed to create an account so he can call me through prepaid service.....

He will be coming on next Friday August 15. But we are just really missing him a lot and a phone call a day would make a whole lotta difference in our day....

Glad he called....so sorry you missed it!

I will add for everyones knowledge though that our prison just changed it and my sons money can only be put on his account on Fridays now.....cutbacks in employment and all.

Not happy about it but nothing we can do about it though....se la vi!

So when you know the money is low send it quick so it does not run out!
