My husband was sentenced to 83 days community service on Feb 20, 2009. He pleaded guilty on auto bulglary. He enrolled himself in Sheriffs Work alternative program to get his GED. He was able to get his diploma but he has still days to serve, for some reason he stopped going to his program. So we received a warrant notice. He turned himself in last Sunday. I dunno how many more days he needs to serve.

I feel really sad, we have 3 wonderful kids and I hope that he gets to do a lot of thinking while he is in custody. Would I be able to call jail to get information on his release date????

I'm sorry to hear that, sounds like he was doing really well there for awhile. I don't really have an answear to your question, the only thing I'm wondering is, won't he have to have a hearing for violation the program?

no, there will be no trial anymore, They are just letting him serve the remaining time in custody. They said no need to see judge coz he's already been sentenced. He is on a no bail warrant when he surrender, i guess to make sure he will have to finished the whole thing.

YES, he is in the San Francisco County Jail.

You should be able to call the jail and find out what his projected release date is. I know here where I live when it is county you can call, I want to call it the Probate Officer but I dont know that I am remembering correctly, and they can tell you usually.

hopefully he gets a good case of sit there and think about what you are doing....isnt this more fun then what you should have been doing!!! LOL.....I swear though boys are the same no matter what age.

I think county jails are different depending on where you are at. The only way to find out what time is left in PPS(Philadelphia Prison System) is to do it through the counselor that the inmate gets assigned. Good luck.

Our county jail has an info line that you can call to get that information. I suppose it is different everywhere. He should have access to that information. They should be able to tell him. Once a month at my guy's jail they get an updated list with the projected release date. It changes every month when they subtract the good time. Hang in there! Come here and talk. It really helps.

I will see him tomorrow. The jail he is at is a first come first serve visiting schedule. So i have to go there really early. The attorney that represent him back in Feb told me the other day that he should know how many days he needs to serve, I guess he is saying they told him when he was taken in. I will find out tomorrow when I go visit him. I can't wait to see and talk to him tomorrow. I have not talk to him since Sunday when he left the house to go there.

In Nashville it is public for anyone to know. It probably is anywhere in the US but I don't know. You call and give the name then you get answers.

Ok, now I feel jealous. All these county jails are so organized and forthcoming. In PPS everything is like a big hidden secret, people sit over their minimum for MONTHS, and are not sure why. I actually got lucky enough to talk to thie CO who worked in Records for 5 years, and he told that they use a "complicated formula" to figure out their release time, to which for some reason we're not really preview to, because it goes straight to the judge, and it's not calculated until parole request is filed and that a whole other bag of warms that I'm so not looking forward to.
