Years ago, when my son was a teenager, probably 18 or 19, he controlled our home. First even with my THEN husband, and after husband left me, with that monster, I was on my own, and couldn't handle it. He sold drugs from the house, people in and out all day and night, people never left, they pretty much lived at my house. He moved 3 people in " officially" while I was on vacation. SO I told him it all stopped or I would sell. It didn't stop, I contacted a realtor and sold the darn house. He was running up my heat, grocery, and electric bills, not paying a cent, and I ran the risk of getting involved in cops coming and thinking I had the drugs too. So I sold it. He was shocked. He didn't believe I would do it. I had to. He stole from me, those people trashed my house, so I got out. The last night at that house he came to me and said, " Mom, can I move into your new place, I have nowhere to go? He had 2 months warning from the time the house sold til we had to get out. I laughed at him, and said, You fool, I sold it to get away from what you were putting me through, no you can't. So he claims to this day he was " homeless", but in fact, he lived at a friend's really nice condo, he stayed at hotels, he lived it up on his drug money. I don't feel bad I did it. I had to.
He later went to prison for four years, because he got busted big time. Luckily now, he has completely turned his life around. Has 2 kids, and 2 " step kids", sort of.. ( gf's kids) He has a good job, and is a good dad. He doesn't deal drugs anymore, everyone he knew got put in prison for it, so they now stick to DRINKING... not good, but I don't have to deal with it, so I don't care.
My point is, I went through hell with my son too. I had to get tough, and move out, sell, leave... and start my own life. I had to do this for him too. He had to grow up. He took the wrong way for awhile, but he paid the price. dearly.
As for the door thing how silly! Tell him to get off his high horse on that one and his sister was trying to be nice by getting or offering to get his wife the stuff.
So hope that things get better soon hugs me.
