UNBELIEVEABLE! FREDDY AND I ARE LEGALLY MARRIED SINCE JUNE OF 96, THATS 12 YEARS NOW. I SEND HIM IN A NEW WEDDING BAND AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE IT TO HIM BECAUSE THEY ARE SAYING WE ARE COMMENLAW MARRIED, JUST TO BE A PAIN, NOW I HAVE TO SEND A COPY OF MY MARRIAGE LICENSE, BUT IF IT DOESN'T GET THERE WITH IN 5 DAYS THEY WIL SEND THE RING HOME, I SWARE THEY LOVE TO MAKE OUR LIFE DIFFICULT.
THEN I GET A LETTER FROM A VERY GOOD FRIEND THAT I KNOW FOR 13 YEARS, AND HE QUESTIONS WHY HAVEN'T I WRITTEN, I WROTE HIM 2 LETTERS. UGGGG! PLAYING WITH THE MAIL AGAIN, NEVER FAILS, OH WELL BACK TO LETTER WRITING.SOMETIMES I COULD JUST SCREAM.

Your frustration is justified! As I've said before in this forum, when someone goes to prison, their family is sentenced, too, and suffers as much if not more. I find it very frustrating that on top of serving time, our loved ones have to tolerate the dangers of other prisoners, the stupid games of some prison guards, and the red tape rules of the prison system. I never appreciated before how much pain the families endure. Maybe this is the lesson God is sending to me in all of this situation...that I need to have more compassion for people in situations I haven't yet experienced.

I guess my advice to you is to try to be patient and not do anything that would result in retaliation against your husband, because it sounds like that is a favorite pastime for prison employees.

That is ridiculous! I would be angry, & frustrated as well. I really hope the copy of your marriage license gets there in time.

I cant believe that they did this to you guys but then again I can. I can because according to the DOJ Josh wasnt born on the 13th he was born on the 12th so they can do the whole not married thing too....it is crazy.

I am really sorry that they did this to you considering as how many trials you have gone through on your own this last year. GRRRR I hope it all works out though.

I, too hope that it gets there quickly enough.

It is frustrating. My son had to send home some shoes I got him because they can't store them anymore for him awaiting for him to go into general population. He can't wear them where he is now. They kept them for about a yr, what is a few more months? Nope home they came. That was a goal he had been working towards to get to wear them. My fist gift to him. A pair he really liked. Such a little thing but they try to suck all joy from their life.

Sorry that part wasn't very upbuilding or positive but they can be unbelievably unreasonable. They should have just let him keep the ring. Who would it hurt?

YES I JUST HOPE THE PONY EXPRESS GETS THE LICENSE THERE ON TIME, I SEND A COPY TO THE PACKAGE ROOM, A COPY TO THE COUNSLER, AND A COPY TO FREDDY WHICH THEY WILL TAKE AWAY FROM HIM BUT THEN AT LEAST IT GOES INTO HIS PROPERTY, THERE SHOULD BE ONE THERE, I DON'T GET IT, ITS NOT LIKE WE JUST GOT MARRIED.

Last year when Pat was transferred up north; His glasses were on his property list when he shipped out, but when he arrive they weren't in his property; He went without reading glasses for 6 months; and for any of you who rely on glassed to read and write know how that was. I ordered him a pair and had them sent directly to him, but they wouldn't let him have them for some ridiculous reason I didn't even care to pay attention too. They lost his stuff and took there sweet time replacing it. But when it comes to the DOC, your hands are tied, especially while your loved one is in it.
