My fiancee lost his license a while back due to falling in arrears in child support in the state he resided in then. Over the past 7 years he has been very good about NOT driving. However yesterday he drove my truck to go get tires on it to get inspected and he got stopped for vision imparment according to the arresting officer. It was a pair of sunglasses hanging well below the dash. In anycase they arrested him on the spot. Thankfully did not tow the vehicle. That would have been money we don't have. Got ahold of me and I had a family member grab me from work and brought truck home. Back about 8 years ago he did serve a week in county jail for driving without a dl. He and I are both beyond freaking out if he will serve time on this offense. When he served the last time he was told if caught again he could possibly face 6 months to 2 years. Like i said he has been very good at not driving. Had to get new tires on truck for inspection, yesterday was only day they could do and I work 12 hour days. He is so concerned bout me taking care of our house and pets and such without him around. With my health conditions he is scrared to death. I am doing what I can to calm his concerns. Telling him lets wait and see what the judge says. Thanks for the ad to the group. I need a place to vent.
I'm so tired of people commenting about him driving within a license . They drive after drinking at bars. They drive semi trucks with no sleep. But they're good drivers because they have a license??
I don't think anyone should go to prison for driving without a license.
We live in a rural are. No byses or taxi's. You do what you have to do to survive.
