Listen, LISTEN LOL...there is so much things going right now...the wedding (when he comes home) haaaaaaaaaaa lol. So theme is.........BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!! I have already found the perfect ball gown and he will wear a blue suit..I am going to replica the rose under the bell for centerpieces and will have it in a nice mansion! All wishful thinking but hey that is the name of the game in this business. So I am done with the grant proposal, I have to make some lil tweeks but I will post it below so u guys can read it and tell me what you think...It SUCKS that our men are in prison but let's try be positive....they need that ray of sunshine....What are some of the things you are trying to do now to stay positive and what sexy plans you have when your man comes home? I am def. getting a stripper pole in our bedroom! DEFINITELY!

Build a Skill Workshop Programme
Project Summary- Build a Skill Workshop will be a furniture manufacturing company and storefront with a “built in” skills building social programme. This project is aimed at at risk young men and recent prison releases. These men will be trained in furniture making, carpentry and upholstery. The Storefront will serve as a place for customers to purchase goods that were manufactured and/or order specific furniture. This project will be a social and economic stimuli to build these men and put them on a path for success. These men will be taught a trade and have the opportunity to make a living from their learned and honed skills.
Statement of Need- The rate of Crime and Prison recidivism in the Bahamas is at an all time high, we know this is the case because young men are feeling left out the economy of our country. There is a great lack of opportunities for these young men to become productive citizens. They do not have the requisite skills to compete in a very competitive work environment and it is very difficult for prison releases to find employment even with a skill because of their record. We need an holistic programme to reach a generation of men we are losing to crime and hopelessness.
Build a Skill Workshop intend to fill that void. Through training, life counseling,and the self esteem boost they will receive by being able to earn an honest living; we are certain Build a Skill Workshop project will turn these men lives around. We know social programmes like these can only be truly successful with an economic component. To that end we are going to achieve both with this project; a Social Programme to train and mentor young men and an Economic Programme where they can earn a good living from their acquired skills.
Key Implementation Strategy: To make this project a success we will need to:
Secure a commercial building large enough to serve as a workshop and the front are be used as the showroom.
Contract instructors and volunteers; master carpenters, experienced furniture fabricators and upholsterers to train these men on all these areas.
Procure all the tools, equipment and raw materials for them to learn to and manufacture furniture.
The Specific Manufacturing Items we intend on specializing in are:

Grant Request: To this end we are seeking a grant of $300,000 USD to pilot this project
Operational Plan- The administrator of this programme will also serve as office manager. The responsibilities of this positions is liasoning with schools and representatives at Her Majesty’s Prison to find suitable participants for this programme. The Administrator will also vet and hire The instructors that will train all participants. Some participants will be asked to become full time employees but all participants will be able to trained and leave with a marketable skill.
Key Collaborators: We will be collaborating outside Volunteers who would like to give their time to help train young men, various Government High Schools Guidance Counselors and Her Majesty Prison Counselors. We intend to create a symbiotic relationship with the Ministry of Education and Social Services.
Goal #1-To providing permanent employment for 25 men (Recent Prison Releases)
Evaluation- Conduct pre and ongoing self bettering surveys on employees.
Goal #2 - To provide apprenticeship training for 50 at risk young men per quarter
Evaluation- Conduct pre and post programme knowledge surveys on training participants.
I loooove the wedding theme!!! I don't really have a theme yet, just get down the damn aisle lol! I have been looking at dresses and such. Lawd don't get me started on sexy plans :P I do like the pole idea; I've thought of that before, however when he comes home I'm going to be a bit older and with my luck I'll break a hip or something and as long as I've been patiently waiting I don't need that :D I am going to tell him to have the fire station on speed dial because it's going to be fire in the house, oh hell yeah rotflmao!!

I really like your grant proposal i do hope that you get it its a awesome idea there needs to be more of these things especially for at risk kids.
