It's been so long since I've visited this site I'm almost ashamed to write now. For those of you who don't remember me my husband was sentenced to 15 years in Federal prison, he is now in year 12. I can't say time has gone by quickly but it has. It certainly hasn't been easy, I have changed so much in 12 years but the one thing that hasn't changed is the love I have for my husband. He is my best friend, my soul mate and the one I will be with till death do us part, we have been married for 38 years. He is due to be released in July of 2018, I can finally see a light at the end of the long tunnel.
This is what is causing me so much anxiety, I can't wait for him to get home. I dream about it and think about it everyday but I know things will be different. We have lost many friends through the years, only a few have stuck by our side and I WILL remember those who have. I am afraid those who weren't there will try and worm thier way back into our lives and my husband is such and easy going person that he'll allow it, NOT ME !!
I had to go on disability for health reasons since my husband has been gone so financially things have been very tough, this last year has been the worst. I have had to rely heavily on credit cards and now I'm having a hard time paying my debt. I managed to keep our home because I wanted him to come back to his home, our home. This is where my anxiety is coming from. I don't want him to come home to a mountain of bills and get overwhelmed. He has health issues too, while he's been in prison he has had to have triple bypass surgery and although he is much better and healthier I try to keep stress from him and keep things to myself.
Our family unit has changed too, my children don't get along they barely speak. My daughter has an issue with drugs, she's better now than she was 5 years ago but she'll always have issues. She lives with me and we fight all the time. My son and his family lived with me for most of the time my husband has been away but recently I had an argument with his wife and asked them to leave. Big mistake on my part, I don't think our relationship will ever be the same. This concerns me too because I know my husband wants us to be the family we used to be and I don't think that will happen.
I'm sorry I'm rambling, I just have so much bottled up inside. I know I'm trying to figure out things before they happen, I just can't seem to stop. I feel like I'm falling apart and I don't want my husband to know it. I'm so angry all the time and I hate it.

I think i would tell him whats been going on...well bits of it anyway you gotta remember he probably find out when he gets home anyway.

I know it's been an eternity since yours has been home. I'm happy it's almost over for you, but I know it still feels like forever.
Ivan has been home almost a year already. Mostly it's great. We moved, have a cute little house on an acre, with fifteen apple trees.
Sometimes it's not all happy days with him. Being free has a lot for them to get used to again. He gets very stressed, but working hard.
I'm on disability, and you're right you don't get much. I've been on it since December.
You know he realizes it's gotta be tough for you on disability. So maybe he won't be that surprise when he sees what's going on with the bills.
I'll check on you again. Miss all my good friends who helped me get through the times he was in prison.
Basically we're not rich by far, but we're ok. It's difficult at times to go from doing things on your own, your own way to letting him take charge of everything. But mostly a big relief.
Hope things get easier somehow for you. Seems your family still is going through turmoil. From what I remember, your son's wife was a pain. Lol
I appreciate that you dont want your husband to come home to debt but you have had to survive Pat and at least he has a home AND a wife to come home to. Regarding your daughter I am sure that you had your reasons to ask her to leave. Nothing is perfect Pat and again you have been the one left to cope with all this on your own.
I am sure that he will just be happy to return home to you welcoming him. He is a lucky man and I hope that he appreciates you.
It is not long to go and it will fly in before you know it. I pray that it works out for you Pat as you so deserve it. Take care dear friend and remember to look after yourself too
