Setting up phone calls for cell phones

Hi,
My fiance gave me an 1-800 to put money on for him to place calls to me because I have a cell phone.
What does he have to do to be able to call me after I put money on the phone? This is all new to me. I'm new to dealing with someone I love being in jail. He has not called me.
I don't know what is going on, he feels like he has to deal with this legal issue alone, without including me. He says he does not want to include me into his mess, but the fact that he is gone, I am sad, worried and scared for him. I'm just overwhelmed, unable to concentrate or focus at work.

where my guy is he has a list of numbers he can call and I normally just put it on his phone account through a website because it's cheaper because the 800 i had charged me 7 bucks everytime I put money on another thing is if he far away you can get a prepaid phone and use the zip code wherever he is because the call are hella lot cheaper. one month for long distance calling on my phone will was almost 200 bucks

Get a google voice acct...99 cents a call and it will forward to your cell...I have been doing this for 5 years...3 prison transfers..with my son...google voice is FREE...look into it..blessings to you

Hear the prisons check the numbers before they can call just to make sure we want there calls. In the mean time I would be writing to him and tell him what you have told us.
As for Google voice Skype and things like that some prisons won't let you use them ( going by my experience) so check first with them.

You can either get a google voice, or set up a phone number in his area code and the prefix of the town he is in. Then its not long distance and is alot cheaper. I did the second one, and our calls are 13 cents a minute. We rarely talk more than 10 minutes. Because he can then call about 4-5 times a day. I had to give the phone company the phone number I would be using. Then he can call only me on that account.

Some prisons let them have a phone card where they pay, and it gets deducted from their card. But they can call anyone with it. I personally don't want to pay for him to call anyone but me. They all can pay their own. Selfish it sounds like, but I am pretty broke without his income. Gotta think what's best for you.

My friend has the google voice and it saves him alot of money.

In the post I wrote a girl told me about conscallhome.com. If google voice doesn't have a local number for you check that website out. You have to pay for their service but it's still cheaper than paying the long distance charges.

I use https://www.securustech.net here in Missouri. It has saved me a lot of money over the years. Much cheaper than collect calls and I have both my land line and my cell on it so he can call me on either one.
