if it's anything like the annual reviews that Michael has. it's just basically a progress report. The review board looks at the programs he's completed, any write ups he may have had, his employment within the prison...stuff like that. In ohio, there's a point system, and depending on the number of points, a guy can be eligible to go to a lower security....or might have to go higher. It's usually at a review, that they discuss transferring an inmate to another prison, or changing jobs...
like I said, it's like a progress report, just as you would have a review at work or school. Reviews are nothing to really worry about at all.
That being said, a bad review can really get a guy down. in 2012, Michael got a not so great review....he was told he wasn't eligible for a transfer...he'd been working so hard for. I didn't hear from him for a couple weeks. he was depressed and grumpy. then, it's like a switch flipped and he worked twice as hard, found out in may of 13 that it was a clerical error...but at that point, they had to wait till his next review to do anything about it. In November, he got his review...and it still took till last week to transfer...but just keep it in the back of your mind, that if a review doesn't go the way your guy would like for it to, he may grump about it for a while.

Thanks that is how my guy pretty much explained it and he already knows he probably wot be elgible for a transfer because he is not close enough in points but he has taken alot of classes and has been working so I suspect it should go well and who knows he might get a good surprise like transferring closer.
