Just try to keep your head up and taking care of your baby. A year will be here and gone before you know it! He'll be fine as long as he keeps his nose clean and follows the rules. You can do this!

Idk anything about prison or jail or any of that besodes the stuff from tv im scared he might get hurt or something idk what its like to be locked up .. I hope hes ok i wish this year was over already i cant wait foor him to come home

Don't watch tv stuff or you'll drive yourself bat s**t crazy everyday. Yes things happen in there but not like tv. Like I said as long as he keeps to himself and follows the rules he'll be ok. Plus with only a year he's not in a facility with the worst of the worst inmates. If he's in his "home" facility, (the place where he'll serve his sentence) look it up online to see what it's all about.

You have to take it day by day. Keep busy. Write him; It doesn't matter if they're just to tell him you love him and how your day/week is going/went. Letters are like gold to them in there trust me! I missed last week and my hubz to be was like, "hey I didn't get my weekly letter :)" I usually send like 2 a week.

I know where he will be going it seems nice but idk how it is on the inside i just hope he stays safe i will be ok woth time i want to send letter and everything i just dont know of i need like special paper or what they have so many rules

Please breathe! You don’t have to know all the answers right now. Read the facility’s web site and figure out one thing at a time. I completely understand your panic and feeling frantic. You both are powerless and slowing down will help you adjust. Easy does it!

Nope regular paper. I will say don't use colored envelopes as the majority of facilities require white ones, but of course you can check.

I'm right there with you. My Hubby got 11months and 29 days. We are 3 months in. Just stay busy with your little one!

the one thing I will say is never use a pencil to write letters because I'm paranoid someone would change what I wrote.. make sure if you send cards they allow them they actually banned them where my ex is and even post cards are now banned as well..if you go on the prison website they should have a list of things your allowed to send..

if you visit always bring extra clothes just in case..sometimes they might say your clothes aren't appropriate..

Hes still in county right now after all this time i finally got to see him and i finally got my number to him so he can call now i had to wrote my number on my arm since you cant bring anything he seems ok thank god but its hard being apart i feel much better since i seen him but he hasn't got transferred yet and prison is different i just hope hes ok i dont want him 2 get more time when hes in prison im worried that after a few months im gonna get a call saying he got even more time ik im over thinking things its hard not 2 everyone tells me prison is alot nicer but he seems ok in county i wish he could just stay there this sucks im greatful its only a year its still scary though

I think even though theres more stuff in prison.... Prison is easier for some. County always seems to be really negative because theyre not classified its just whoever does what is housed with another whoever did what.... In prison theres minimum, med and max depending on the state. He will get classified and probably put with other non violent offenders. If he behaves he can get into programs and stuff. I also found (in nys) that prison calls and stuff are cheaper plus he could get food and things like that that he couldnt get in county. By the end of the year you'll be thinking it was so easy.
