sigh, so I can't hear his voice or talk to him while he is there. it stinks.
This whole thing stinks. I know he must pay for the things he did, but it's hard.
Second, I don't know if you should do that or not. You will probably be hitting your head against a wall. These people don't care what we want, need, or think. And it could antagonize them.
From what a judge told me, he doesn't even have control over what happens to the people he sentences after they are in the power of the DOC. It may ruffle their feathers and make things worse for him.
They probably did no assessment. But they don't have to prove that they did. They can do anything they want.
My guy went before the review board to get on the early release program which meant he would go to treatment. He was denied the first time, then a few months later accepted. From what he's seen and dealt with before, they always deny them the first time.
I know this is not encouraging. Just the experience we have had.
Hmmmm can you try and find out who is in charge of this program and talk to them about it? You might not get much info but it might make them sit up a bit it also shows that he has support on the outside. If that dosnt help keep going up higher.
Good luck I hope he gets into the program soon.
I really would like to know who b/c I don't know if I can stand back quietly. I have friends who work in the media and wonder if reaching out to them would be something. But then again I don't want to make his situation worse because they could take it out on him and retaliate.
Oh once my guy was getting extorted, hurt, threatened, and so was our family. No one would do anything. He couldn't, or be a snitch and get hurt by the guys there, or we would of been. They knew where I lived, what I drove, it was scary.
FINALLY, I made several inquiries. The Attorney General wouldn't do anything. No one would. So I got ahold of the head of security at the prison. I left messages that if he didn't do something i would go to the media. Our local news station had just did an expose on what goes on in prisons. Well that still didn't cut it.
THEN a fluke. I saw the Commissioner of Corrections for that state on tv. I heard his name. So I lied. I left another message that my FRIEND Mr Hanson, was at a party I was at, and I told him everything and he said heads were going to roll if something didn't get done quick. I told this guy on the voice message that his boss would be doing something soon, to them. WOW did I get action. I went to see him, and he wasn't at the prison he had been at. They told me where to go, and I could see him immediately when I got there. He hadn't even been there a few minutes, not even "processed" yet, and they let me in. In fact, I walked in and they greeted me by name.
That won't work for everyone, but it did for me.
Check what rights if few that his got go from there.....who knows how many other people this guy has done this too.
Yes there a law onto themselves and its hard to find the info or get anything out of them.
If you talk to the media be carfull prisons and prisoners can be made to look worse then what they are personally I think more people need to know what gos on.
And I will write to the councilman, state senator and governor.
Thanks so much.
