I am in Wisconsin. Wish they would do it there. Too bad they don't form huge groups for this cause like they do for things like Black Lives Matter. Every topic that has a real concern to be addressed should get that much attention. And I am not saying that to say something bad about that one.

People that aren't involved in the prison system don't understand and would be against it, but it needs to be done. All over the United States!!

Good luck, I hope you get thousands to participate, or a good amount to get it on the news, then maybe it will spread all over.
It's time people understand that prisons are not doing what they are intended to do. They are not trying to rehabilitate people. They are just warehousing them because it is a money making industry
It needs to be addressed about the poor treatment good men and women get, for stupid offenses they shouldn't be in prison for. There are many topics to fight for. I wish we could make a difference..

ihatewisconsin: You would be surprised how many people are interested in fighting for this cause. A lot of people who haven't been through this don't understand, that's true. So the first protest will probably consist of mostly family members of inmates, former inmates, etc.....but we are hoping that once we expose the wrongdoing and all of our stories, that people who aren't directly affected will take a stand.

One of our members posted this quote today: "Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are just as outraged as those who are." I think that rings pretty true.

Here is a useful link about the current state of privately run prison's. Indeed reform is needed. This is probably the biggest and most overlooked threat to our country. Companies should not be allowed to exploit inmates for miniscule wages while gaining record profits and at the same time limiting good paying jobs to non-incarcerated citizens. This is an outrage!
