Does anybody know what pre-paid phone company lets you do collect calls? I cant afford to get a contract phone just pre-paid phone, in the next few months im goin to buy a new phone or a new battery for my phone and wonder if the company im with does it or if i got to go through a different one?

It depends what state you are in, look on the Department of Corrections in your state, if their collect calls got a feeling they may have to go to a land line phone but I'm not sure? Call the facility and ask a counselor. They may help you.

I know that we are only allowed to make collect calls to a land line phone. And I use Global tell for my home phone and my daughter uses a phone card to call her friend but it is still their land line. Call the facility and see what the rules are. I don't quite understand why cell phones aren't allowed to be the accepting phone though.

In WI, I use Correctional Billing Services, put money on ahead of time and yes, it goes to my cell phone. Good Luck!

In Nevada we use ICSolutions. I put $100.00 on every few months and of course they charge you an additional fee to that like $5.95 or so. It can only be added to a Landline phone here. I do have call forwarding on my landline so occasionally I have forwarded the calls to my cell phone and I have been able to get calls from Steven if he happens to call when I'm away from home.

I know a friend of Steven's (a lady) got a landline just to receive his calls but so far he has not been able to get through to her yet. She's going with me tomorrow to visit Steven so hopefully we can figure out what's going on. I keep thinking she told us the wrong phone # to call. She's never been to a prison before so she's kinda scared to see what's involved and visiting him. Then she might go see him on her own after the first visit. It's nothing romantic to their relationship - Steven used to be really good friends with her husband who committed suicide in April 2010. We'll see how it goes. We've been planning to go together to visit Steven for a couple of months now and things just happen and she can't go. She broke her foot and that's been causing her problems. She's in a cast now and has to bring a note to show the CO's why she has to have a cast. The prison takes every precaution to make sure no one brings in drugs - I'm not kidding. Love, Georgia

in Fl, i used correctional billing services. i know they arent allowed to cell lines..only land lines will be approved. and in Fl they can only update their phone list every 6 months.

JustTalk communications works well. It works with any cell phone carrier. You can get a free phone call to try it out. Then, you can get more free phone calls by referring a friend. i tried Correctional Billing Services, cux i got a collect call on my phone didnt answer it let it go to voicemail and it gave me the site, i checked my phone and it said that my phone doesnt work with them, so im going to look into a dif pre-paid phone, cux i cant afford monthly bills so what pre-paid phones work with collect calls?
