Im on doc supervision and was released from prison 1 1/2 years ago. I have been 100% with everything, no violations or probems at all.
My girlfriend is going to be released from prison to work release in a few weeks.
Now Im trying to figure out what to do or how to go about things because i want to be in her life and dont want either of us to have any issues with doc probation. I want to be able to be a positive support for her while she is at work release and after but am concerned because i know doc officers sometimes have a problem with convicted felons associating with eachother.
Both of our convictions were not related at all and i truly am a good person for her life, recovery, and future.
Please help me so i can go about this the right way, approach and hopfully be apporved to be in her life during this time.
Thank you

Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...

In my own drive to break my family legacy with prison as our "Institute of Higher Learning," I have become a firm believer in the adage that example is not *one* way to influence others. It's the *only* way. When I am helping somebody with a transition as big as being released from prison, I don't tell them much. I show them whatever/whenever I can and give them lots of votes of confidence that they can figure it out when I have nothing to show them.
DS is a big site. I hope you will take the time to surf the various forums to see what other support might be available for your recovery. I pray your gf will follow your noble example.
Find out first if itll work before you mention it to her.
Aslo, i dont advice anyone to get married for motives other than love. But if it doesnt work between you two, divorce is always an option.
I do however know that my friend and her husband were in an idenicle situation where i live. And thats how they solved it, i assume. By the time i had met them they had already been married a couple of years while both still on parole for crimes commited before meeting eachother. They met while in jail btw, not sure how, but im assuming as pen pals.
