Overwhelmed

I'm new to this site but grateful it's here. I'm having a hard time adjusting to my boyfriend being in jail and likely prison. It seems like my life is on hold right now and I'm unsure how to keep moving forward while trying to take care of all the loose ends. It's not his first time incarcerated, but it's mine. It seems like everywhere i go, I run into hurdles. Meanwhile I'm trying to be positive when I talk with him, but I don't feel like I'm succeeding

Hello and welcome! Sorry you have to be in those shoes but we're all going through it or have been through it. Yes in a way your life is on hold, however as cheesy/corny it may sound love does conquer all! Suchaslife is living proof of this! You'll meet her too!

Waiting for the actual sentence is one of the hardest things because you're in limbo wondering how long you have to keep your life on hold, and it seems like the system takes FOREVER in deciding this! Just continue to talk positive when you speak with him. You can always come on here to talk as much as you want!

Hey iam sorry your going through this but we can help keep you san!
Its the wait bit wich is the worst and yes life sort of gos on hold for a bit but keeps going all at the same time. We keept our relationship going through letters ,visits and phone calls its was the only way we could keep it going forward.
Its hard work i wont sugar coat it but its doable. Everyone on this page has been where you are right now and we really do get it.

Thank you both:-) I can't tell you how much it helps to find people who understand. No one around me has ever gone through anything like this except one friend. Everyone else is full of judgements and opinions in my work place and life. I struggle to respond with grace sometimes and then I feel bad for being snappy. But reading your comments, I feel a moment of peace

Yep thats normal to have people judge. One of the things i used to do to the people that judge was ask them what would they do if it was there man or son or daughter? Most people don't have a come back to that.
Just remember there judging you by there standards.

I know and I try to be compassionate. This morning was hard. I talked to him and he said he's really hungry. I think it's making him slightly delirious. And I guess they only have commissary delivery on Monday. I've made sure he has money on his account, but if I send specific food items via the care pack website who knows how long that'll take. I feel so helpless

The food is crap i mean really bad wouldn't feed it to a dog type bad. Just make sure his got a bit of money so he can get some food the is a tad better. Ive never done care packages so iam not sure how long it can take.
I know you mean about feeling hopeless its normal to feel that way.
