Welcome:) I don't remember you, bu I have only been on here since April of this past year. My brother is in Federal, he got 27 months for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. His release to house arrest is 11-24-2013, But I am hoping for sooner.
I was a real mess when I came on here, he is my best friend. But I have learned to adjust and look towards the future. I know it would be much harder with a long sentence. I thought 27 months was long when he went in and now there is less than a year left.
You must be strong to have done this for 7 yrs!! I am wondering if maybe you are a little sad right now because of the holidays. I like to pretend they are just a regular day and just get through it like any other. I know alot of ladies like to take pics and make little books so their loved one can feel included.

My husband is also my bestfriend we've been married for 33 years, I miss him everyday and even though some think it gets easier I'm sorry to say I don't. Most of our friends have disappeared but I still do have a few, my husbands bestfriend has been my rock. He has been there for me through good and bad, whenever I need something I know I can count on him. Over the last 7 years my husband has been moved all over the place, we are from RI and he has been in Mass., NY, TX and is now in NJ. I try to se him as often as I can but it gets expensive and I haven't seen him since August. His friend and I are planning to go down in a few weeks if the weather is good and I can't wait. We do talk everyday and I snt him cards and pctures all the time which helps, but I have to say he has been much stronger than I have. He makes me laugh when I want to cry and I do, he never feels bad for himself he only keeps telling me how sorry he is for putting me throught this. Right now I am struggling to keep our house so that when he does come home it will be to the same place he left but he told me he doesn't care if we live in a tent as long as we are together. I am truly blessed to have him in my life and I don't know what I would do without him. thanks for the welcome and hugs back to you.

Hi, I don't know if you were on when I was here before either. I was on a few years ago. Then both my fiance and son got out. Unfortunately, fiance is back in the last 2 and a half years. So here I am again.

I love this group. The people on here do help alot. They all understand because they are feeling the same things.

That's sad that he has to be gone so long, and you have been married so long. What a waste of life, right?

I hope you find some comfort in this group again. It sure helps me. I am sitting here reading posts and should be doing homework. I take college classes online. I got one degree in March, I started when he was in before, now going for my bachelors in criminal justice. Not to be a cop or anything, quite the opposite. To learn all I can to help people like us and our guys in prison. Perhaps an advocate. Some things I learn actually can help people. We just aren't told what our options are, and then they get afraid and take deals they shouldn't. We have some laws on our side, if we know about them. They bet that we won't. It really has helped my guy in a few situations. Unfortunately, it hasn't helped get him home sooner.
