It's hard for people to understand why someone would wait for someone locked up. Especially if they have a lengthy sentence. You're not alone as we're all going through it in this group. Please don't get a vice to deal with the separation because that won't be good for either of you. Try to find a hobby or two to keep you busy. You can always write him daily; it doesn't have to be long ones. When he calls let him know how you're really feeling, pretending isn't good, plus if he's anything like my fiance he knows when you're faking. You can do this just take things one day at a time. Big hugs!
Sure didn't help he got a probation violation and went to prison shortly after we got together. And it was because a ex still wanted him, and he'd met me, so she called his PO and lied about something to get him sent back.
Fast forward eighteen years. We're still together, and finally half of my family accepts and likes him. My dad actually tells him he loves him like a son.
My family had both to do with him for YEARS, not because they really knew him, but because they'd heard bogus crap, and looked up his record.
He has a bad drinking problem for years. Hence many DUI's. My brother's are drunks. No one banished them from the family.
It's one thing for family to state their feelings. But mine were vicious. They shouldn't get to decide who we love.
Sure life has been difficult living through drinking, then him gone four times to prison. But I know the good parts of him. I held out, It was and is worth it.
