I've lost a nice home we had, been abandoned by friends and family who thought I'd lost my mind for staying with him. I went through 3 cold winters with no heat.
Eighteen yrs later, still with him, still love him. But still worried it's going to happen again.
Stick with what your heart tells you to do. Obviously you can't stop loving a person because people tell you to or because MAYBE life would be better or easier without them.
Don't listen to others criticism's. Listen to your thoughts only.
Be prepared for tough lonely days and definitely nights. Stay busy! Don't hideout in your home, whatever it is. Get going trying to fix your situation for you. He will feel better too, knowing you're going to be OK.
You will be OK. It's just going to take a bit of time to adjust to the situation, to get to the point where you can start doing positive things to help both of you get through this.
The longest mine was gone was 3.5 yrs, but 10 months later he went back for 25 months. He's been home 8 months now. Was doing good, but starting to fall apart again. So again I'm scared.
Will your guy be out in 4 months? Today that seems forever. But if that's all the time he gets, you CAN get through it.
Don't sit in that RV and cry.!!! Go do something everyday. Get a job if you don't have one. Go to the county to get whatever help you can get from them. Go for walks in pretty places. It will calm your mind and help you focus on positive things you can do to help your situation and his too.
Big thing that helped me, truthfully was finding Daily Strength. It's awesome because everyone understands. I've been on it 12 yrs. Make friends on here. Comment on posts, read and write journals. It all helps.
Another big thing you gotta push yourself on us believing you WILL get through this, and maybe even come out string. I did!
One elderly couple I saw, she moved close to the prison, and had been coming 5 days a week, for several years. He was in on a life sentence. She never gave up on him. You can bet she had very hard times in every way. You can be sure she was criticized and lost many friends and family. But their love survived all that was thrown at them. They learned to adjust to and accept a new kind of normal life for them.
On the other side of the coin, a woman with 3 kids, was left to survive for 11 yrs while her husband was in prison for a crime he didn't commit. She knew it. Their daughter and her friend got mad because he wouldn't let the daughter be with her friend because she was into drugs and other things. So the two girls went to cops and said the dad molested the friend. Later when he got 11 yrs in prison they tried to recant their testimony, but court wouldn't listen.
The wife visited for awhile. She also lost her home. But then she got lonely and tired of waiting. Started posting pictures of herself in FB in bars with guys, knowing her husband would find out.
The poor man sat in prison devastated. I never heard what happened to her, but I hope her life is Hell.
I think if you're strong enough to live in that RV, and smart enough to be on here looking for help, you're going to be fine.
