My Son's being sentenced next week

My 24 year old son is being sentenced on the 14tth for a sexual assault. I know most parents don't want to believe the worst about their kids but I do 100% believe he didn't do it. I base this on what the "victim" said. The judge asked her if she wanted to have a relationship with him and she said yet but once she realized he wasn't calling her back she felt she was assaulted. Even though she admitted he told her he didn't want to have any sort of serious relationship. I am so angry over how this was all handled I can barely function.
The police lost evidence, the prosecutor didn't release her mental health records until the day he was originally supposed to be sentenced, and they show she has made this claim prior to my son but never pressed charges before.
There's so much more to this but I am not sure of the reaction I will get from this group but my life is the hardest it's ever been and I thought reaching out might give me the strength I need to keep going.
There are days I think this will kill me and I really need some help.

Well, I think that this is the least judgmental place you can come to talk. I too am so worried for my 21 year old son in county jail at this time. send him lots of letters, stay positive, go to every visit that you can. He will be ok.

You can talk about anything on here. There is no on here that will judge you or your son. I cannot imagine what you are going through especially when you think he is not guilty of the crime. Some of these young girls can just wreak havoc on the guys. It seems that most times they side with the girls. You're guilty unless you can absolutely prove your innocence. Court is a stage and all involved are just actors ; Whoever gives the best performance is the winner. When you have children you want them to grow up have fun, have a lot of friends, and work hard. In this day and age there are so many things that are treated as criminal acts. It's sad but you can't trust anyone anymore.

Do you have any idea how much time he is facing? Will he have to register as a sex offender? I pray for both you and you son to be able to get through this and I especially pray for strength for all of us who are going through these kinds of situations.
