There is nothing wrong with you. The problem lies within your father,not you. Have you talked with your mom about this? She might be able to give you some insight as to understanding what's going on with your father. Someday he may realize what he is missing by not being involved in the lives of his children.

I agree with the other ladies. Not your fault and maybe your mother knows why he is distant with you.

Do not beat yourself up though! If he does not see whom you are and appreciate you for being you....THAT IS HIS LOSS!

Sometimes we have to just go on.......and be the best we can be and cut our losses with those whom can not see that we are soooo special and that we could really bring alot of love and good things to their lives.

So if he is not interested in you....which he may be but it could be very hard for him to show it..........move on! when he is ready...maybe then you can have that with him. If you want it!

But do not continue feeling like it is something wrong with you.....never ever that!

As the other's have said, your father's distance with you is HIS issue, NOT yours. I agree that your Mother may have some insight. Maybe you are a reminder of all he ever did wrong and he isn't man enough to face all those demons yet..there are a million reasons why, but not a one of them lies in you and the person you need to continue being...if you can look in the mirror everyday and know with no doubts you did all you could that day to be a good person then you are winning in this life. You said you had just met him. Did you stay in contact with him while he was locked up? How long was he inside? He may just be overwhelmed, maybe ashamed. He might not know how to have a relationship yet. Getting out of prison can be stressful and full of new challenages. I would try to stay in contact if thats something he is willing to do. It might just take a while for you both to get to know each other again. Do you think that there is something wrong with all you siblings? Probably not, and he must be treating them the way for you to have said he does not care about them. If you think about it that way I think you will understand its not you, its with in him. Hang in there and give it some time.

thanx and i say he doesnt care abou the siblings because we've all talked it out at some point together and the mojority of them are picking up bad habits like drugs gangs sex and drinking as an i have too.

theres like 13 or 14 of us all together different or same moms.

Like the others have said "IT IS NOT YOU". I have a 16 year old niece who has some trouble with her father-he is not in jail, but he has not always shown her the love she needs from a father. I think in her dad's case, he almost doesn't know how to show his daughter how much he loves her and is proud of her. It is something with him...and I fear sometimes that she may take it as with what you're dealing with.

So please...know it's not you...it is something your father is dealing with. Keep coming here for support...everyone is always so helpful.

I think that maybe he is ashamed of what kind of life he has led, and foolishly thinks it is for the best. But maybe someday it will dawn on him that you want him in your life in some way no matter what he has done. I hope so, if that is what you want. Good Luck.
