I would call the prison she is at and ask. It might be different there, but I doubt it.
We are mom's no matter what age they are, and that should matter to them. It should be a good thing we care. But believe me, when my fiance had a heart attack they never called me. I waited and waited, and he finally called. I wasn't allowed to go see him. But again, it might be different where you are.
Those tests are uncomfortable, but not dangerous. They won't take long. My kids had them when they were really young, and they did just fine. Everyone is scared, but it will be ok, and over in a few minutes. Just uncomfortable while they are doing it. When they take the biopsy, it's only a tiny little thing they take out, and she might feel a twinge of pain for a little while after they do it. I think my daughter was about 14 when she had hers done, and son was younger. It was not even terrible for them. They will give her something to keep her calm, maybe even to sleep through it. The worst my kids felt was nauseous afterwards.
I know you will want to be there. But I doubt you can, she will get through it fine. My daughter had many of those types of procedures over many years, while still young. She hated to have to do it, but did ok. Her worst one was the one for endometriosis, and the only part that was terrible was aftewards, she had pain in her shoulders from gas moving upward, out of her body after they gave it to her to be able to move parts around to remove the endometriosis stuff. It caused pressure in her shoulders. Weird, huh? But your daughter won't have that. She will just be sedated to not move or feel what they are doing. They will insert that little tube in her colon, clip off a portion of tissue or whatever it is, and look at it to make sure nothing worse is going on. She will wake up, and be basically fine. Maybe just sore.
I hope that made sense, and you are able to SORT of relax. We are mom's to them even when they are 80 and we are REEEEEEALLY old.
Is your daughter incarcerated in Oklahoma since she is being treated at OSU?
I know you must be worried sick. Wish there was something we could do for you.
My fiance was in constant pain for weeks in his abdomen. The tests were supposed to take up to two weeks, also. WHY?? Don 't take that long out here. Then he got moved, and never heard anything again about them. He said don't bother. But we gotta sometimes.
Call the case worker. I know that person is probably useless, but worth a try.
