I feel raw. I've known my brother-in-law for 9 years and he's always been my favorite member of my husband's family. He is my husband's odler brother and he has always looked up to him: very smart and very social. Has a house, an industrial job, and another job doing what he loves. He likes tinkering with computers, reading fantasy novels, and games with stories at its core, very similar to my husband. Well my husband received a recent call from his oldest sister saying that their brother was arrested for rape. This is the first time that I know of that he's been in trouble with the law. My husband stayed home from work yesterday because of the shock. I hate feeling sympathy with someone who committed rape but that is how I feel. I still love him but I can't fathom how or why this happened. I wish I could talk to him. I just feel sad. I don't even have a question. I just wonder if I am alone or if anyone can relate to a close family member being arrested for rape and feeling so helpless.
Theres always more to these storys then what meats the eye.

I can say this because my fiance was accused years ago while in a custody war with his ex. Cops and judges tend to believe a woman showing big tears rather than a decent, innocent man.
If you love him and don't think he is capable of it, then don't give up on him. Even if the charges get dropped people will forever judge him, leer at him and treat him like he did it.
Until it happens in their close circle of family or friends they won't understand how this is the easiest way to ruin a person's life even if the charges are lies.
I say unless you were there, saw for yourself, it's probably not true.
