This community is dedicated to families that have been disrupted by prison. Having a loved one incarcerated or having been incarcerated comes with its own unique challenges that require support and understanding. I wont bs you this is hard work (we did 4 years) but it is doable. Definitely write to him its a good way of finding things out about each other that you didn't know before. Take his calls if you can afford it.
As for you going out and having fun....the pubs and clubs might not be a good idea but thats your call. You have to live for him and you so when you do go out tell him about it make him feel like his include in the fun this is really really important on say the holidays.

Thanks for your advice. I'm just hoping this gets easier. As far as the bars go I haven't drank or gone out in 6 months so that's not an issue. I take his calls when I can and I write to him often and send pictures. I just hope this gets easier eventually. The worst part is nit knowing how long hes in for. I hate the uncertainty
They charge so much to talk on the phone I've spend $470 already and it hasn't even been a month yet!!!!! It's so frustrating
