Michigan says early release of 10,000 prisoners?

My husband says everyone in his unit is talking about an announcement made todayby gov rick snyder. (Michigan) Something about releasing ten thous. Prisonrs early? Sorry for misspleelings and bad punct. Switched to cell and letters are so close together, lol. I have searched internet and cant find anything on this. Has anyone heard of this or a crazy rumor going around in there?

CA is supposed to release that many but our Gov is fighting court order. If they don't give him an extension (which undoubtably won't), instead of releasing them, he will move them out of state... I hope your state actually does. Our govt likes to incarcerate too many for too long.

Those rumors keep circulating year after year. Somehow it always sounds good, but never happens. I am not familiar with anything that is happening in your states though. It could happen.

We heard about early releases all the time, but it never happened. NEVER get excited about it until your person is actually contacted that he is leaving early.

I agree ihatewisconson, I look at the news and what's going on, but don't get my hopes up, besides, he won't be eligible anyways....

I haven't gotten my hopes up, have learned over and over again that I just can't get happy about anything that is not for sure because then I am just ruined when it doesn't happen. Perfect example is thinking I was going to move into my own place with the kids. Was sooooo close, then got the rug pulled out from under me. So I will keep looking this up and see if i find anything. Sucks that all the guys in there are excited about this. I really hope it is true, and I wont tell my hubby otherwise unless i have proof. They have to have some hope...
