Hey all. My husband is really wanting some magazines sent to him. Is there anything special I need to do to get a subscription sent to him? Or do I just go to the magazine's website and sign him up with the same address I send books to? I checked the BOP website and they are allowed subscriptions but I want to make sure I don't have to do anything special to make sure they make it to him. Thanks!

Send them to the same address you mail letters normally.

make sure it's approved by prison some magazines aren't ie:playboy, guns magazine

Even if he asked for something like that, I wouldn't get him a subscription. He's a huge tech nerd so hopefully they won't find anything wrong with Wired (a computer technology magazine). He also said he wouldn't mind the New Yorker so I think I should be good. Thanks for all the help. Never had to deal with anything like this situation so I'm learning something new everyday.

My hubby got a order form on several magazine subscriptions that were $1, $2, or $3 per magazine and then he was able to get an additional one or two magazines for free based on the number of magazines he ordered. Maybe he can see if there is an order form with approved magazines he can order from.

I wish I could do that..but no in Australia we have to get them our selfs and post them in to them.

@tayla25 yes we can! Check with his prison first but coz they could say no tattoo ones, no girly ones. You can get a post satchel for $13.40 from the post office to send them in......oh and if they have dvds or stuff like that take them off before you send it or if you get a free magazine take them out of the bag they came in first then send them in.
I send my man car and gameing magazine and paper back books.
But check to see how many you can send at a time!

My husband gets Wired and it took a couple of months to get it to him. I would also just make sure when you order them to find out when your husband can expect to receive the magazine so you both can have an idea when to expect it.

My son is in Arkansas in prison so I called the mail room and asked them what I could send that was safe to send , coz they censor everything , they told me Sports Illustrated ... well holy crap ... he only gets half the issues I paid for coz of some nonsense ... if they discuss homosexuality in the magazine its banned and send to a holding place for me to pick up when I visit ... I called them and they say ... sorry but rules are rules

So be careful what you pay for , coz they might not get it anyways
