Hi,
My fianc was arrested and has been in the county jail since Oct. 25. We have known one another since I was 16 years old. He was my sweetheart when I was 21, then life separated us until just 18 months ago, when we were reunited. He is my best friend and the love of my life, and I am devastated that he is in trouble. I have no idea how long he will be away, since he has still not been sentenced. I am really struggling with how lonely and heartbroken I feel. I write to him every day, and we talk on the phone every day, but the hours between are brutal. I am trying so hard to be strong and patient, but I am depressed, lonely, and have very little support. I have no family to help, and I am having a very hard time financially- working two jobs, applied for food stamps, moving to a smaller place...
I'm writing because I'm looking for advice, support, anything. I'm really, really sad and lonely. I need help. Anything anyone has to offer is so very welcome.

I've been going through this for 19 months, it's still hard being without him, but starting to handle it a little better (not needing meds to help me cope).
All I can suggest is to take it one day at a time. Try not to look too far down the road, as I find it can only bring more anxiety if what may (or may not) come.

The hurting and the loneliness (for both of you) won't go away all together, but it will fade a little as time goes by. As you go along, take note of the things that make you smile and turn that switch up. Don't swallow the sadness or the misery because that could make you sick - literally - but find a way to take a good look at it and then put it away.
We're here for you when you need to holler from anger and frustration, and we're here for you when you get the little bits of good news that will come. You can take all the bits of good news and precious memories and loving moments and make a glorious quilt of it all.
We are all here for you day and night! The pain and the hurt never goes away I have been going through this for over 3 yrs and some days are harder then others. You have to learn how to cope with it if not then it will just eat you alive trust me i have been in the hospital for different things not just from this but some due to all of this with my husbands incarceration due to stress it will make you sick. Phone calls, writing him always helps...im 27 yrs old and my husband and i have been together for 15 yrs and married for almost 8. I miss him dearly we have two precious children together and its so hard without him here. We all are here for you whenever you need to talk!!!
