This community is dedicated to families that have been disrupted by prison. Having a loved one incarcerated or having been incarcerated comes with its own unique challenges that require support and understanding. I have the lockdown blues. Bad enough we haven't heard from him all week since our last visit last Saturday, now they are supposedly on some partial lockdown. My son is so strong, he's basically been dealing with this half of his life now. He was being tough tonight when I told him we may not be able to visit in the morning. I was the one losing it. I guess because you get all prepared and excited to see them and then boom...We'll see what the morning brings. Keeping my fingers crossed that visiting is allowed after all.
Not doing a pity party, because it is what it is, but if you can compare: I live in Spain and cannot visit my son at all.
Or speak over the telephone.
I hope he is getting my emails. He isn't able to email back.
I am determined that this will make us both stronger people in the long run.

Your son sounds like such a sweet boy. I'm sorry he's going through this- and you too. You're in my thoughts.
