I know the feeling... How much time are you two looking at? I hope things go better than you expect.

Sentencing is always hard. I hope you know at least what to expect. It will be good to start the count down after that day, and you will get used to whatever situation. I am sorry that you have to go through this.

As a family support case worker in the county jail, I want to take this time to offer you support.

My husband is a sergeant in the county jail I work in. He and believe people make bad choices, but they r not bad people.

Currently my uncle and cousins are inmates in the jail where we both work.

I accompany many families to court for sentencing as a support. As you both face this hard time, know am here to help u.

Ask questions, if a jail employe is rude ask to speak to a sergeant or some one eles in charge. If the person was rude to u, they were to someone else.

Thank you ladies. They are going after a habitual which carries a DOC sentence from 5 to 8 years...or they could drop it and we are looking at possibly something very light. We just don't know. Our attorney just returned from Ireland tonight after 3 weeks vacation so we've had no time to talk or at least not to me. I have no idea if he talked to my husband or not. I know he's been working on a plea bargain but I have no idea what that is. Last I heard they were down to 3 years but then he got 2 new cases (luckily in a different county but it technically violated his probation) and they are back to playing hard ball. The good prosecutor is back from maternity leave and she is much easier to deal with then the guy who took over for her so we have some hope there.

Plus we are trying to string out the 2 new cases till after June when his probation is up so hopefully if the judge is feeling nice (haha) he won't officially violate him. He's let it slide on a technicality with others before...hopefully he will for us too. Everything is just so up in the air.

I am trying to have faith in our attorney who is very good and we have a fair judge and the nicer prosecutor is back.....it's about as good a hand as we could possibly be dealt. The rest is up to God now.

Yesterday morning a miracle happened. There is just no other way to explain it. The prosecutor dropped the habitual and a majority of the charges and he plead guilty to only 2 of the original 9. They gave him credit for time served and 18 months in work release. Work release! I almost fell out of my chair. I still can't quite believe it.

But then he called me last night and was all kinds of pissed off. Apparently they searched his block last night...found one guy with a bunch of stuff directly on him...but they singled out my husband and another guy because they had just been moved from other blocks into this one...which I understand. But after going through all his things and strip searching him and finding nothing...they put him in an isolation/suicide watch cell. He said they told him he was not on any kind of disciplinary measure, i.e. the phone call, but still. They told him the captain would be in between 5 and 6 am and that it was his call if my husband went to work release this morning like he is supposed to.

So now I am waiting till 10 am to call the jail and see if he went or not. I swear...it's always something. If they don't let him go...I'm calling our attorney back. Don't know if he can do anything but hopefully he can.
