I say this because my daughter left her hubby (though their was never money even enough to get married). They had been together for 9 years. She moved in with us late Sunday night. He has had like 5 jobs in that time9 years....some he only kept because she was such a worker that the places did not want to lose her so they put up with him. She has tried and tried to give him sooo many chances! But he did not come from a working family like us....instead one that made a living scrounging to make ends meet. Anyway that was possible not necessarily always legal either.
My daughter does not steal or abuse or neglect children because it is easier than working at being what the children need.
Your mother is fearing that you are in that same boat!
So yes if he is working....seriously working at being a good mate and a good hubby.....GREAT! If not....consider that maybe some of what she fears is true about your hubby.
Now enough said on that!
If he is a worthy man and just been thru bad circumstances ....some of that can be acceptable.....but they HAVE to give as much as you to the good of the marriage and family.
So love him and keep him if he is a real man....if not dump the dipshit that is trying to get a free ride in life! Like my so called son in law. Sorry about that! It has been a hard last few years....seeing her being used and told she is nothing when if he could have some one else tie his shoes....he would...or just not shave or bathe because he thinks it does not matter!
Just know my heart is in the right place....usually I NEVER say leave them due to them going to prison! I admire those that stick it out!
But....because of my daughters pain and suffering and the grandkids......my oh my......if I could set back time....and never ever have him in our life....I would! But I love the kids!
Sorry I should have just journalled instead of coming here! And sounding off on you!
So....consider if she just does not know him....your mother....or does she see him clearly......or not!
Love and support! Seriously!
If you need a ear I will try hard not to see my son in laws face when telling you to stay and be good to him ....because he is good to you! But that is sooooo not the case with our situation!
Love Rhea
