My son, it looks like, I could possibly be facing 25 years in prison. I am 62 years old and likely will not be around when he gets out. I'm struggling with trying to figure out where I can put his boxes of all of the things he collected in his 27 years of life when he was free including all of his keepsakes that he has and things of mine that I want him to have. If my family or his brothers get their hands on it first they will make sure he never gets it. I can't come up with anyone that I know for sure will be able to give this to him if he is in there for 25 years. Have any of you thought of this and come up with a good solution? I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that any of you have! Thank you!

Have you talked to him about it?
What about on his dads side is there anyone who can trust?

His dad's side of the family are not trustworthy people, his dad committed suicide two years ago which is 99% cause of where my son is. Dad was an evil person. Basically I wouldn't trust anyone on his side of the family with a piece of bubble gum unfortunately. I just keep running into brick walls, I appreciate your response

That makes it hard.....do talk to him about it he might have a idea? Or maybe his lawyer could give you some ideas?

I haven't discussed this with him. His friends are gone so he wouldn't know of anyone to ask. Was hoping to find some ideas here. Thank you for your suggestions.

Is there any long term storage places that you could try? I would hate for him to loose everything.

I am dealing with the same thing regarding my fiancé's belongings. I am having to move to a smaller place and don't have room. Many things I gave away, sold to help pay his legal fees and house expenses and donated. Any items small enough to fit in totes, I will stack against a wall or turn into a table. I have a living will that I will amend regarding his belongings, if I pass before he gets out. I will let him decide where it goes then and include that in the will.
Here's my issue about his stuff- I get SO angry and sad that I have to go through it all. I make sure I have distractions (like audio books or TV) while I pack it. I let myself cry. I take breaks and naps. I give myself lots of time to deal with all of it. It still sucks and hurts!

I'm sorry you're going thru the same thing... the only thing I have come up with yet is to buy a storage shed, a small one and put it in my brother's backyard. He has owned his home since 1985 and likely will never move. If I come up with any other suggestions, I'll be sure to let you know. Feel free to write me privately if you need to.
