Hello, I am new to this group. My mom was just sent to prison for a crime she didn't committ. She has possible parole after 4 years. She is my best friend. I feel so much pain from it. All of it has made me physically ill. I spent all last night lying around extreamly nauseous and throwing up when all I wanted to do was sleep. I still have 3 weeks left of high school and my 18th birthday is in four. It's just me and my dad and my older sister now but she is 21 and dosen't live with us. My mom and dad have been married almost 40 years. All of it seems so overwhelming and I went from being in denial to being extreamly sick and even more depressed. I've never felt this hopeless in my life. I can't live with this much pain. It's to much. I don't know what to do. All of my usual copeing mechanisms don't work. Nothing feels the same. I don't feel safe or comfortable anymore.
Your mum isn't the first person to get locked up for something they didn't do. But you know what she is still your mum they cant take that away from you and she still loves you nothing can stop that. Try and write to her it might help both of you .
Remember prison isn't like what you see on tv its mostly boring so those letters and visit and phone calls as much as it sucks is one of the things that helps both and remember you can come here and talk we do get it.
