Hey, new to this group & would love to talk to women that know what I'm going through. My husband is in jail for a year & our son was just born 1/16/2018 my husband was on probation for a marijuana charge a year ago. He violated probation due to a pain pill he took at work for his back. I did all my crying the night he came home & failed a random drug test. I had a new born baby & I was a mess. Crying none stop for days but now I'm fine & I feel guilty for being so okay with him being gone for a year. We video chat on my phone everyday & he will watch our kids play or the baby & he dose nothing but cry & I don't. I feel bad I'm not sad. I'm doing very well taking care of 3 boys everyday. I don't know if my feelings will change has time goes on? & I'm really scared for when he dose come home. I feel like I'll get so use to not having him around & taking care of kids & everything on my own. Please help?
Just so you know it took me about 6 months to get where you are now. But heres the thing you guys have been here before so you know how the system works and you know his ok i think that might be why your ok. As for when he comes home well i think you might be ok it might take a week or two for you to adjust back just take it a day at a time and this might sound crazy but make him go to the doctor if he needs pain meds that way the doctor can do a note for his po so they know his taken some pain meds....yes its a pain in the butt but if he doesn't want this to happen again its what he will have to do!
Right now you're a busy mama. Stay busy. You have 3 boys that depend on you. Don't feel guilty for not feeling sad. I think you're adjusting very well and have accepted his absence.
And, after given some time to adjust, you'll be fine when he comes home too.
