What your feeling is i hate to say normal it hurts like hell for a while. Something that i found that helped other then being a crying mess was to write and write and then write some more think his first letter was almost 15 pages! Didn't think i could write so much!
Take his calls hearing there voices is a big help so set up a phone account or if he can a phone card asap.
Keep coming back to here this site and the people on it are a big help we have all been or are where you are right now so we do get it.
Hugs
I always have something to tell him, but we also write "in between" letters just to say I love you!!
I also want to piggyback on what Tea_Jay said about sending cards, make sure they're always in a white envelope or they'll get sent back. I sent one in light beige and it came back to me.
And yes definitely answer his calls even if you're mad, after talking to him you'll feel a lot better; I speak from lots of experience about this :) :) Super hugs!
