having to turn some one in

ok my brother has a warrent out and he has had it out for awhile and i was just woundering if any of u had to turn family in before on top of it he is using drugs alot and drinking alot and smokes and becomes violent towards me,my younger brother,and my brother it could be something as simple as a pack of cigrettes he threating to beat my younger brother up over it has been worse and bigger things i dont know if i should b/c i would feel guilt and my younger brother has biopolar and he may just be an ass why the older one is looked up or it might be good to give some space from each other and maybe some time for him to sober up to

ive never had to turn someone in, however, i have told ralphie MULTIPLE times that if i needed to because there was a warrant, i would. i love him enough to know that i don't want him to be 'on the run' and add multiple charges.

Try and think of the positive (1) you are helping one brother who is trouble with the law and has a warrant (2) you are protecting other members of your family (3) maybe your brother will be forced to "sober up" and also force him to seek treatment. Chin up and think positive you may ultimately save his life as well as some others.

This is a tough one in my opinion. I don't know, maybe it is because I have been in a bad lifestyle myself, but I can not turn anyone in. That's just me. If your brother is really being that destructive though, I do agree that it is something you should consider.

Are you going to wait until he really hurts someone first? As his behavior escalates, and it will, things will get worse.
Turning him in will make him furious at you, but so what? You could be saving his life?
I will be honest with you - if he was related to me he'd already be sitting in jail. I don't play around.

I had to turn my son in because he was harmfull to himself or others. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, but I don't regret it. He is back in prison now (alcohol related), but he is alive!!
