Getting a job as a felon

My boyfriend recently got out of jail but since he has a felony record now he can't pass any background checks. He is trying really hard to find a job so he doesn't make the same mistakes again when he was desperate for money and no one was hiring him. He is having a really hard time, and becoming demotivated. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any places or resources he or I can reach out to that helps felons get jobs. I would really appreciate it. I am desperately trying to help him. you don't say where you are, but state employment agencies often have specialized programs to help with that brutal transition. in general, it is up to the job hunter to do the reaching out, so it is unlikely you will be able to do much more than be there for him. that is quite allot, all by itself. support helps and is far easier to say than do.

be gentle with all the players involved and patient with the process.

I'm not sure where you are, but you can Google a list of companies that hire felons near you. It pops up every once in a while on social media. Good luck to you both!

I don't know what his skills are but from what I've heard the two industries most felon friendly are restuarants and construction. . . Especially if it's a family owned resturant they may not have the money for a background check and might hire whoever is willing to show up, on time, and do the dishes. Once he has had a job it seems easier to get a job once you've had a job. I know your post was awhile ok, I hope things are ok

    Lately I've been feeling scared and full of anxiety. I recently found a lump under my nipple. I hurt my back too. I'm in the process of moving. I'm run down. Everything is hard

You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol.
