I think today is just one of those days! I visited my hubby last week and miss him even more this week.

Angeladam- Hope you are feeling better. I know how you feel of course. It is so tough when you just want them to do something normal with you like go to dinner or lay in bed and watch a movie (and fill in blank). This is why at visit I try to make it like we are the only ones in the room by eating popcorn and playing card and being as normal as possible. When he calls I try to sometimes just try to remember some people have long distance relationships and are very similar to us, can't call and visit often and write letters to supplement not seeing each other. Even our arguments make me feel like he's home. Although we all make the most of it, some days we do have to just allow ourselves to just be down in the dumps about the reality of the situation. Thank you for your support. I am fighting off the sadness! Today I went to the gym, then worked at the farm market, and tonight I am going to my overnight nurse's aid job. Staying busy is helping me, and so is sharing me feelings here. You are all awesome. :)

Me too! Even my name here is lonelychica :) Do you talk to him? I just got to talk to my hubby, so I'm feeling mixed - I mean, I loved talking to him, but I was crying for most of the time, and then I cried even more after that, so I don't know how to prepare for his next phone call - I don't want to cry, bc it makes him feel bad, and it makes me feel bad, but I just miss him so much. Good to know others feel the same way - big hug from me!

Hi lonelychica, yes, I talk to him, every day, and that does help. In a few weeks he's leaving county and going to reception, then prison. I am trying to prepare for the separation, but I know it'll be really hard. Fortunately in New York they get visits in reception, and where he's going will be just an hour from me.
We'll get through this!

That's great you can talk every day. At least you get to hear his voice, and be a bit intimate in that way. I just signed up for a service that another member of this group recommended, it's a free trial for a new prison phone service, prisonconnect.co, so I hope I'll also be able to talk to my hubby every day. It doesn't replace him, but its something, more than nothing.
I read here another comment which is so true - I miss everything, but especially the small things, like having dinner together, watching a movie, going shopping, nothing special, just the routine. Usually people hate routine, but when you lose it, it's horrible!
