I haven't seen my husband in about 6 weeks and am finally going to see him this weekend. As most of you know he's been in for over 7 years now so this is nothing new to me but for some reason I am really anxious and stressed out. It does take a lot out of me to go see him because it is about a 6 or 7 hour drive, financially it's hard because I am on disability and don't have much of an income and we have to spend 2 nights in a hotel, don't get me wrong I'd spend my last dollar and walk if I had too, but for some reason this trip seems to be harder and I really can't figure out why. My daughter is coming with me and my sister was supposed to but she backed out so now it's just me and my daughter. Those of you who know my story know my daughter's story too, she is a recovering addict, the last time I went with her she ruined the whole trip and I ended up leaving her in the hotel and went with my grandson myself for our visit. She has been doing really well in her recovery for about 2 to 3 months and she knows this time I'll not only leave her in the hotel I'll leave her in NJ because this time we are not taking the baby with us. Now that I am writing all this my anxiety is making sense to me DUH. it's my daughter. I'm sitting here crying as I am writing this, now what do I do? I can't go by myself nobody else can come this visit and the hotel is already booked. Should I talk to her and explain my fears or just let it go and see how things work out? Every visit is so important to me, I only get to see him every couple of months so our time together is precious, I plan every detail so carefully from what clothes to bring down to what perfume to wear, if she ruins this I swear I will leave her and drive home alone.

Big hugs and I so hope its a good visit! Hehe you sound just like me when I go see my man I got plane down to the clothes, perfume and where I stay.

That long drive is enough of a reason to be anxious. I would go too, but dread the drive. BUT it will be fine. Give yourself extra driving time and stop and relax for a few minutes here and there to break up the drive.
The money of course is a worry. It costs you so much to drive and the hotel too. BUT in the end, you get to see him. That's important. Maybe its better your daughter isn't going with, if you fear problems with her going. Let this be just about you and him, and forget the rest. Have a good weekend with him. You need it.
