Thank you Laurie, I think people should be monitored some how before entering, or being able to enter on approval, then you don't even know at times who is who.

I think that if people are concerned about private information on this site being public since it is a public site, then you should choose carefully what you display about yourself. You have the option of adding photos or not, putting in your age or not, and putting in your location or not. If you are concerned about safety and anonymity, you should remove pictures and private information about your location, so to get a better sense of safety for yourself.
I think the only way to "monitor" a site like this is for it to be a fee-based site for members only. Otherwise, an open forum such as this makes us all vulnerable to some degree.
I only share what I feel comfortable with sharing. I only share personal/intimate details about things if I feel comfortable with knowing it is displayed on the world wide web. It is a chance we all take when we decide to open up our doors here.

I also wondered if some people we made connections with and suddenly vanished were not who they truely claimed to be.
