Court didn't go well. All we got is another continuance. And now we wait another month. What the heck is that? The lawyer said he still doesn't have the police report. That report will all be her lies! What is that needed for! I don't understand this. I am a emotional wreck. How am I going to help him? I can't eat... I'm upset... I try to fake being ok around my coworkers but its not always possible. My family doesn't understand and they think my guy is evil. The court's are taking their sweet time and so is his new lawyer that we just hired. I just feel like screaming.. I wish I could break him out and forget our troubles... I know that that wouldn't last long though.. ha ha.. Not really considering doing that so no worries... I'm just so annoyed at the system. I don't understand it. I still haven't been able to see him. He's being so stubborn! He calls and writes but its not the same. I have done all that I can. I don't know what else to do... I don't want to hound his lawyer for information or bug his parents but I feel like I'm losing this battle... The family I have doesn't understand and he is suddenly Evil because he's incarcerated. I'm waiting for him and no one gets why or can see what is so special about him. I replay the memories of us together and its like a love movie... until it turned ugly when his kid's mother destroyed it... I'm not spiteful. He loves me.. He's said it over and over.. He chose me over her.. I just wish I could understand what is going to happen to him... how long he's going to be gone... I miss him. I can't keep doing this.. I can hear the unhappiness in his voice each time we talk. He is getting more depressed. He still has a small amount of hope but its dwindling... he's only been there a little over a month... and he's losing himself... I don't know how to help him... I feel so helpless.. And so does he... support groups are helpful but how do I conquer his loss of hope and his fears...

Continuances are pretty common especially when you don't have all the evidence for the hearing. I have a friend who was put through continuances for 9 months. The good thing is that no matter how much time they give him, he is already serving it. It's one less month to worry about.

You have to have patience. I know that seems impossible but for me my faith and unwavering trust in God has helped me cope. It's hard but you have to survive and you don't have a choice to wallow in self pity or depression. When I went through a bad break up and also had to still live with the guy my mom told me that I had to go to work and keep going in order to get all the stress and problems out of my head. Burying myself in tasks took away from the pain and depression until I got out of that situation.

Sometimes time can be a positive thing. We've all been there, it's rough. But sometimes it's positive because it gives your attorney adequate time to prepare for his/her case. Take care

I agree with bambosnipes on the continuances. They can be a pain in the butt, but this time is going towards time served. As for family, you may have to decide to leave the nay sayers behind and be around those who can be positive and supportive, even if it is just a couple (my situation here). Just keep sending encouragement to him and I think you will start convincing yourself in time too. :)

Be grateful for every continuance. I know it's hard and you want things to hurry up and be over. However every time they push things out, the better it is. It means your attorney is doing her job. Hub's attorney only had him as a client a couple of months before starting trial proceedings. She didn't do anything to fight his charges. This may go on for some time, but she is doing her job to get all info to help with the defense strategy.

Hang in there, I know you feel like nothing is being done, but like everyone said it takes time! My husband has been fighting this for 3 years and before trial they continued his case over and over and over. He has a paid attorney also. But you want to make sure your attorney is prepared. My husband was falsely accused is 2010 but he didnt go to trial until 2012 so trust me the courts are in no hurry. We are still going to court to this day! Good luck with everything and im always here if you ever need to talk! Remember theres always light at the end of the tunnel God will never leave you nor forsake you, He will bring yall through this!
