Contact visits with children

My husband was just transferred to a level 3 prison with awesome 2 hour long contact visits. I haven't been approved to visit yet but can't wait to see him. From what I hear, they are pretty relaxed and allow you to hold hands during. We have a newborn & I am sure it varies between prisons but was wondering if my husband will by any chance be allowed to hold his son during visits, even just for a little bit? If anyone has any experience with this please let me know. Thanks

Each state is different, we get 6 hour contact visits 2 days a week plus holidays, we are allowed to hug, kiss and hold hands and yes they are allowed to hold their children. I am in Florida so it is hard to say, call the prison and hopefully you can find out. Enjoy your visit! Is this his his first time meeting the baby?

In Illinois at contact visits you it just depends on the visiting room officer some let them sit in their lap part of the time. Have a good visit!

In Mn and Wi they get to hold them. In one he even got to play games with them, and their was a play section in the visit room he could go play with toys in there with our granddaughter. This was WI.

MN they got to hold them, but it was pretty rigid. You could have toys by your chairs, or books. Couldn't walk around, but they could sit on their laps.

I hope this is the case whenever we get to go see him! Luckily not his first time meeting him, he was there for the delivery and for a week and a half after so at least they were able to bond but I definitely want him to be able to keep seeing him so he can remember him well enough when he comes home
