Hi there, I'm new to this group. My boyfriend was sentenced to 2 years in prison. He only has to do 8 months if he does everything he supposed to do. This is my first time dealing with something like this . I feel very depressed. Any advice on how to keep myself busy?

Community service is my favorite busy work. It might even lead to inroads which can help with the post prison transition.
As long as you are here on DS, this particular forum moves as slow as winter molasses, but DS is a big site with a rich variety of support available. Could be worth a surf to see what other forms of support might help you through this difficult time.
You have made a good start by joining the group. Having support is always a good thing. Keep a journal so that you go back and see how you got through this situation. Don't isolate so much as this causes you to have idle thoughts. Take up a hobby. Hope this helps.
