as if it couldn't get any worse...suggestions? Ple

Just got a call from my guy. His kid's mother is the one that is keeping him in jail. She couldn't respond to the court about the case against him that she made up lies about...now she contacted child support and her children's school to tell them where he is and he is facing all of this. I feel so helpless. Why is she so evil? On top of him being in jail and facing all of this... my kid's father is threatening to drop my kid's health insurance and make me pay for it. I don't know what I can do. He signed the partial custody papers that said he has to cover them... how do I go about dealing with all the troubles that are coming our way. I will wait for my man. He is everything I've ever loved. He needs a woman with a strong backbone... I am strong but I don't know how to conquer things that his ex and my ex are throwing at us. ANy advise? I am so mad that she is like this. This guarantees that he will not be given a light sentence. His lawyer estimates three or four years... I don't know what I can do... feeling helpless. I just want to take him home and put my arms around him. Make him feel loved. I want her to just go away and my ex to...

Child support does need to know where he is but I don't know why she told the kids school.

Since he is in jail and has no income, you can file a Motion to Abate Child

Sorry, not finished. It is called a Motion to Abate Child Support. That way, his license won't be suspended for being behind. If the Judge approves the Motion, it will be retro active back to the date of his incarceration.

We went through extreme stress with my ex husband, who took me to family court more times than I can count just for spite- among other things. It was extremely hard to focus on what was important and too easy to get caught up in the drama he kept creating. After a year of insanity I blocked his phone calls and texts, and told him I would only communicate with him through email. The court agreed after I shared his abusive voicemails and texts. I think what you have to do is step back from the situation and figure out exactly what it is that you can do to make it better for yourself and your guy. In NY, where I live, the parent who has health insurance has to provide it for the kids. Find out what the laws are there and calmly and patiently pursue them for your child. Don't engage with your ex. You have enough BS going on! As for the ex wife, the sad and frustrating truth is, you are probably powerless over it. You have to take care of yourself and keep supporting your sweetheart. Take it one day at a time- one hour at a time if you have to. Listen when he talks to you and reassure him as much as you can. Calmly tell the attorney your side of things and ask him if there is anything at all that he can do to show that the ex is being deceitful and vengeful. Try to stay calm and focused. Don't get overemotional- it's only hurting you and him. No matter what happens, you love him, and you're doing your best. That's all anyone can do...I wish I could offer more, but I'm feeling much the same way. I'm heartbroken and frustrated and I feel helpless. But I'm trying to stay as calm as I can, and take it a day at a time. I hope things reveal themselves and that you and your guy stay strong through this.

You could get him with contempt charges of he drops the insurance as long as it is in the custody papers that he is to carry it. I know this from experience with my ex who tried to get me on contempt when I lost my insurance when I was out of work. Luckily the court did nothing to me as I was out of work.
