I try to get motivated to stop thinking about him in there, to stop missing him so much. Today I am just sleepy. He called and woke me up at 7 p.m. Oh my, I think my BP med's are tiring me out. Its a way of getting through a boring day.
I don't have a job now, so I have nothing but time to think. Some days I can get alot done. NOT TODAY!!!
You have the right idea, send pictures, keep him in the loop of things. Mine has me take pictures every time I have my granddaughter, or every time I do something special that he would of been at.
We must keep our chins up or it will make it longer for us. We don't want to be so depressed sounding that they dread calling us.
Sometimes I think he likes if I go do things, so I have something to talk to him about. Since we talk 4 times a day, it gets hard to find things to discuss, just to keep his voice on the phone.
Anyway, glad you are doing ok today. One day at a time. Some are better than others. Mine has been so happy now that he is working, he feels like he is alive again, doing somewhat normal things. And he has been into craft projects, making a semi truck, piggy bank for our granddaughter, and next he is going to learn to CROCHET (HAHAHAHA) and make her a blanket. I guess the guys do that in there. They don't show that kind of stuff on Lock UP show, do they? They only show scary things. He hand makes us beautiful holiday and birthday cards. He is a very good artist. The one thing this is doing for him, is showing him he does have talent, that he is very productive and useful. They made him a crew chief over a bunch of inmates doing work on the prison.
Tell your brother to sign up for a job. They make almost NOTHING, but its worth it to them, for their mind.
I only work on the weekends so i totally relate to the too much time to think. I had a couple days last week where i did not nothing too. it seems like i just don't want to interact with people, which is crazy for me. I was a server/bartender for 20 yrs and enjoyed almost all of the time i did it. Now, i just can't do it
that is awesome about his job and the crochet! who cares what they are doing as long as it is bring them some joy and peace and self worth. tell your hubby to crochet away!(LOL)
my brother said he got a job in the kitchen. He said "i ran my own million dollar business 5 yrs ago and now i am cleaning trays in the kitchen." but he also said he realized money isn't everything and this is making him appreciate the small things in life.
I guess i am just thinking that something good will come out of this in the end. I need to think that way to get through the day! You must be real strong, person dealing with this stuff many times between the hubby and son..HUGS to you, i hate wisconsin!
Lately it seems he is almost enjoying his days, and mine are not that great. I am backsliding a bit. I am so lonesome. He calls at least 3 times a day, but now I never know when because he is working off and on all day.
He just called. He is tired, but a good tired. I did the same today and stayed busy mowing the lawn etc.
