THIS STROKE REALLY CONTROLS YOUR BRAIN CELLS, AM I OVEREACTING WHEN I CRY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9:00PM-10:30PM? I AM GOING THROUGH THIS EMOTIONAL RIDE SINCE I HAVE BEEN HOME, I WANT FREDDY TO CALL ME, AND SO FAR I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM HIM, AND IT REALLY IS GETTING TO ME. PROBLEM IS DID HE GET MY LETTER STATING THAT I WOULD BE HOME, I GAVE IT TO THE NURSES IN REHAB, OR COULD IT BE THE FACILITY DID NOT GIVE HIM MY MAIL YET, OR IS FREDDY IN SOME KIND OF TROUBLE, ONE NEVER KNOWS, COULD HE BE SICK HIM SELF????????? THESE ARE ALL QUESTIONS RUNNING THROUGH MY MIND AND ALL I DO IS CRY EVERY NIGHT. I REALLY WAS A MUCH STRONGER PERSON BEFORE THE STROKE, NOW MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I CALL TO FIND OUT IF HE IS OK, OR SHOULD I JUST RIDE IT OUT A WHILE.

Lynn, it's very common after an illness to be depressed. My guess is that not only are you missing Freddy, you're still not feeling 100%. I tend to be more emotional when I'm sick, too.
Ask your dr. about anti-depressants if this continues, please. I'll be praying that you hear from Freddy soon.

Maybe he's letting you rest. Sounds like you've been through a lot.
Are you in physical therapy after your stroke?
I would concentrate on getting better and better. I believe it's federal law that they receive their mail. Keep praying and we'll do the same.

Glad to see your back home. I agree with Jan. I had surgery a couple weeks ago, and although its not the same as a stroke, I have been depressed ever since. Its hard to go through all of this alone. I would call if it where me just to set my mind at ease and I think I would be able to get better quicker without all the stress. Hugs. I hope all is going better.

WE ALL KNOW ABOUT THE MAIL SERVICE THEY RECEIVE. I WOULD CALL. IT WILL ALEVIATE SOME OF THE EMOTIONAL STRESS YOU ARE GOING THROUGH THINKING ABOUT IT. NO NEED TO HAVE ANYTHING MORE GOING ON WHEN YOU ARE AT THE BEGINING OF THIS HEALING PROCESS. I HAVE TO SAY YOU ARE THE STRONGEST PERSON I HAVE EVER KNOWN. FOR SOMEONE TO COME ON AND TYPE AND LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WHILE GOING THROUGH WHAT YOU WENT THROUGH I TIP MY HAT OFF TO YOU. THAT IS STRENGTH WITH IN IT SELF. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST CALL THE FACILITY. YOU WILL FEEL MUCH BETTER AND THEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO FOCUS MORE ON YOURSELF. I AM GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE HOME MY FRIEND....

Probably his mail just is delayed or maybe lost. If it has bothered you more than a few days then it is time to set your mind at rest. Call find out how he is. Alleviate your mind so you can focus on getting better for yourself.

If the depression continues I also agree see about anti-depressants. A stroke takes so much out of a person. You need to really take care of yourself. Don't stress yourself and make sure you get enough rest and sunshine too. Sunshine goes along way to improving your frame of mind.

I wish I could be there in person to help you. Do you have someone taking care of you?Helping out?

nope, your not over reacting at all. One your loved one is not with you and 2, you are not up to your true self. Those are the hours that all the emotional monsters come knocking as well.

I'm sure he is fine and you will hear from him soon. I know its got to be hard and it would ease your mind just to hear from him. I hope you can try to relax you've been through so much and just try and concentrate on feeling better. I will pray you hear from him soon!

crying isn't always bad...and I am glad to hear you are back at home. Rest is a must! And I agree, maybe you should call to see if he is ok. Sometimes they will at least tell you that. And you can always send him another letter, a short note asking if he recieved your letter too. Please get better! We are all here for you! You are in my thoughts & prayers!

Sorry if I repeat posts, I haven't read through the others.

I think you should wait it out. You never know if they are having phone issues, or if he has gotten your letter yet. As you know there is no guarantee that there is a phone available at the time he can make a call. Give it a few days. In the meantime if you can write him another letter and send it asap.

And crying is a great way to release. It's healthy. Take care of yourself.

I CALLED THEY WERE REALLY NASTY IN GUIDANCE UNTILL I BROKE DOWN IN TEARS AND TOLD HER I'M TRYING TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHATS GOING ON, I DON'T SPEAK CLEARLY WHEN I'M UPSET AND SHE KEPT TELLING ME TO HURRY UP, I SNAPED ON HER, BUT THEN SHE SAID SHE WAS SORRY. HE IS OK, I DON'T KNOW WHATS UP, WELL I THINK HE IS OK, SHE SAID HE IS THERE, SAID NOTHING ABOUT LOCK DOWN. SHE SAID SHE WOULD GIVE HIS COUNSELOR THE MESSAGE, WHO KNOWS, I KNOW THEY PLAY AROUND WITH THE MAIL A LOT,I'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT THIS OUT. THIS IS NOT LIKE FREDDY, I THOUGHT HE WOULD AT LEAST TRY TO CALL HOME.

I'm so sorry things have been so crazy for you! I agree with what some of the others have said- if you need to call to relieve some stress from your mind- then do so-. Get some rest! I will pray for you guys!
