Am I being too sensitive

My sisters always say, I sound so depressed when I answer the phone. I got upset and said I’m so sorry to depress you don’t call me then if you feel that way. Am I to just put on a happy face and pretend to be happy? I miss my husband, I worry about him. Obviously, life goes on without him home. Am I being overly sensitive to my sisters not understanding?

No. I feel the same way. I feel scared and depressed too my son in a foreign jail. Some people just don't understand. I guess that's why we looked into this site.

Nope you're ok. It's hard for someone that's not in our shoes to understand. I worry about the hubz to be all the time even after he tells me not to.

You said the right thing! You're already going through enough, you don't need the extra aggravation of them making you feel even worse.

He has been in custody 2 weeks. But being overseas I really don't know if he is safe. I pray he comes back home soon.

No you are not being too sensitive. It is like we are grieving for the loss of a loved one. No they are not dead but they are out of our daily lives. No one understands unless they are in your shoes. My 21 yr old son is in prison for 12 yrs for an accident. He is a good kid, no drugs, no trouble but made a mistake and now he is in prison. I am heartbroken, I'm depressed, I'm scared for him. I have breakdowns all the time. He is my world and now my world has been turned upside down. I've been a single mom for 12 yrs so my world revolved around him. I don't know how I can handle 12 yrs because it has only been 4 months and I'm dying.

All I can suggest is take it one day at a time and keep praying to God for their safety and for your strength. Going through this is so hard.
I will be praying for you and your husband.

Worriedmominok. I feel the same pain you do. We are all so scared for our loved ones. My pain is new. I know we have to be strong because they need us.
